Description
Summary:Gastritis is a common digestive disorder that affects people of all ages. Despite being often overlooked, this condition can lead to serious complications if left untreated. Lifestyle modifications are one of the preventative and therapeutic action for gastritis. Currently, digital therapy has been tested through RCT to be effective in preventing and treating various diseases. The aim of this study is to evaluate the use of a mobile-based digital therapy application, named GUUT, as a supportive measure for non-pharmacological therapy in managing gastritis among ITB students. A quasiexperimental method was used to compare the knowledge and behavior levels of 62 students who used the application with 40 students who did not, both before and after 28-day use of the application. The results showed a non-significant difference between the two groups in terms of knowledge and behavior levels (p=0.25; p=0.198). Additionally, there was a significant difference in knowledge and behavior levels before and after the intervention in the test group (p=0.00012; p=0.012). Meanwhile, there was a significant difference in knowledge level and a non-significant different levels in behavior level before and after the intervention in the control group (p=0.004; p=0.94). Furthermore, the satisfaction evaluation of the application indicated an average satisfaction rating of 94.28 ± 0.97 across five dimensions.
