This can influence policies, actions, and utilization of water sources according to their quality. Determination of the water quality index can be determined using suitable methods and in accordance with the environmental, geographical and demographic factors of the area. The Storet, WAWQI, and CCMEWQI methods are methods commonly used in various countries. This study focuses on the quality of water in the Citarum River which is represented by four monitoring points, namely Wangisagara, Koyod, After Cisirung WWTP, and Nanjung sequentially from upstream to downstream. The analysis was carried out using measurement data from the Regional Environmental Management Agency (BPLHD) of West Java province from 2012 – 2021. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the water quality in the Citarum River tends to be poor and decreases closer to the downstream. This can be caused by excessive use of the Citarum River by the surrounding community as evidenced by the decline in water quality along with increasing population density. The government should take actions or efforts that can reduce the impact of community activities on Citarum River water quality. text |
