Summary: | <p align="justify">Foundation planning is one of the important things to consider in designing an
infrastructure, one of which is testing to obtain the ultimate bearing capacity value,
namely static (Static Loading Test or SLT) and dynamic (Pile Driving Analyzer or
PDA) testing. In general, testing with SLT is more expensive and time consuming
than testing with PDA. However, it can produce better accuracy. Therefore, in this
final project, the correlation between the ultimate bearing capacity value based on
SLT and the ultimate bearing capacity value based on PDA along with the pile
length data and NSPT data will be sought.
In this final project, the data used comes from a toll road construction project in
West Java. From these data, a correlation will be determined in the form of
regression between the selected independent variables (i.e., 1/3 NSPT of the middle
section, NSPT of the tip as far as 4 times the diameter below the pile, pile length,
and ultimate bearing capacity from PDA) with the dependent variable (i.e., ultimate
bearing capacity from SLT). Furthermore, linear and nonlinear regression will be
obtained. Then, the characteristics of the regression model and the amount of
uncertainty in the form of data deviation measures will be quantified as a
consideration to determine the best model.
The obtained linear regression is ???? = 180.863 + 11.645(????2) ? 1.388(????6) ?
14.356(????9) + 0.918(????10). For the nonlinear regression model, the regression
form is ???? = ?0.7649(????1) ? 0.1537(????2) + 0.9490(????3) + 0.9283(????4) ?
17.5599 with ????1 = 62.896 ln(????2) + 1253.1; ????2 = 22.792(????2)1.1403; ????3 =
?2.2523(????9)2 + 122.03(????9) ? 1.1767; ????4 = ?0.0000002(????10)3 +
0.0004(????10)2 + 0.9183(????10) ? 19.946. Where X2 is the NSPT value at the
middle 1/3 of the pile, X6 is the NSPT value 4 times the diameter below the pile
tip, X9 is the pile length, and X10 is the ultimate bearing capacity of the pile based
on PDA.
By considering the characteristics and uncertainty magnitude of the regression
model, it can be concluded that the nonlinear model is better than the linear model.
With good enough characteristics, the regression model obtained can be used as a
consideration in determining the number of SLT and PDA tests in the field.
