Summary: | Stations are one of the most important transport nodes in intermodal transportation due to the interchange of modes. Bandung Station is a type A railway station in West Java, Indonesia, operated by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) of Operation Area II Bandung. Bandung Station has an increasing rate of passenger growth every year. Based on BPS data, the number of executive class passengers was increased from 943,780 in 2016 to 1,830,729 in 2018. One of the attempt to improve train performance in Bandung City by developing a proper parking services at Bandung Station. For this reason, evaluation is conducted on the parking area of North Bandung Station to find out the characteristics, problems, needs, and recommendations on parking areas along with the entrances and exits counter. In research process, the data taken in the form of primary data is the number of arrivals and service times at the ticket booth, as well as inventory facilities in the parking area of North Bandung Station. In addition, the secondary data required are the volume of vehicles and the duration of vehicles entering and exiting the North Bandung Station parking area, as well as the number of daily long-distance train passengers. An analysis was conducted to determine the characteristics of parking performance at North Bandung Station, queue at station entrance and exit counters, parking requirements on 2023 and 2033, and parking inventory conditions at North Bandung Station. The analysis show that the parking performance at North Bandung Station is still able to serve the parking needs in the current condition, but parking projection results in 2033 have exceeded the existing parking capacity. Parking inventory conditions at North Bandung Station are not appropriately placed and the quality has to be improved. Furthermore, the results of the analysis on the ticket booth showed that the entrance and exit counters of North Bandung Station were not queued. An alternative solution provided for the improvement of parking service quality of North Bandung Station is by a proposal of parking layout of North Bandung Station based on the parking space requirements on 2033 and parking management that consists of fare determination, information system, and Parking Space Availability System. |
