Summary: | Indonesia's geographical location is in the Ring of Fire region which causes
frequent earthquakes in Indonesia. This earthquake caused quite significant losses
from both economic and social factors. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the
structure's performance against earthquakes which can be supported by an
innovation, namely Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB). LRB is an earthquake damper
isolation system that is applied as a pier bridge placement. Analysis of the
earthquake force structure using dynamic response spectrum analysis.
The bridge being modeled is a bridge with a short pier. Bridge modeling was
carried out using MIDAS Civil software based on SNI 1725:2016 Loading for
Bridges, SNI 2833:2016 Bridge Planning Against Earthquake Loads and LRB
dimensions used based on AASHTO GSID, 4th Edition, 2014. Piers can actually
provide damping energy with different dimensions and burials. own. However, the
use of LRB as a placeholder is expected to increase the dimensional efficiency and
pier softness.
The results of the study obtained that the period of the LRB bridge is greater
than that of the Conventional Bearing (CB) bridge. When using the damping LRB
which was originally used 5% to 17.7% resulting in a decrease in spectral response.
The dimensions of the pier bridge can be reduced so that cost efficiency is obtained
with a bridge using LRB, which is 22.93% cheaper than a bridge using CB.
