Description
Summary:Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport is a military based airport located in DKI Jakarta. Since 2014, Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport has served commercial aviation service due to heavy traffic in Soekarno Hatta International Airport. In order to accommodate the movement of passengers that always continues to grow in Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport, an evaluation of existing condition is needed for design development of airside facilities. Evaluation of existing conditions and design development of Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport is based on standards published by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Administration). The evaluation process begins with forecasting passengers movement and forecasting aircraft operations for 20 year plan. The scope of airside facilities evaluation includes runway capacity evaluation, apron capacity evaluation, and pavement evaluation for flexible and rigid pavement. The design process of airside facilities begin with geometry design including runway, taxiway, and apron followed by designing flexible pavement for runway and rigid pavement for taxiway and apron. The design of pavement structure was carried out by developing two design scenarios, a reconstruction scenario and overlaying scenario. In pavement design process, FAARFIELD 2.0 was used to determine layer thickness and COMFAA 3.0 was used to evaluate layer thickness. The design process then proceeded with joint design for rigid pavement, drainage channel design, and markings design for airside facilities. Bill of Quantity (BOQ) calculation is carried out to obtain the cost that needs to be spent for each pavement design scenarios. The critical aircraft that operates in Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport is Boeing 777-300 ER. Runway length requirement is 3656 m with 06-24 orientation. Three taxiways with a width of 23 m and apron size of 313,404 m2 are required based on the design results. First scenario of pavement structure design resulted flexible pavement with PCN value 124/F/C/X/T and rigid pavement with PCN value 114/R/B/W/T. Second scenario of pavement structure design resulted flexible pavement with PCN valu 171/F/C/X/T and rigid pavement with PCN value 244/R/C/W/T. The design of drainage channels was carried out on two channels with three types of cross-sections, including trapezoidal, U-Ditch, and Box Culvert. Based on Bill of Quantity (BOQ) calculation, it is known that the second pavement design scenario (overlaying) results in smaller total cost than the first scenario (reconstruction) for the same service life (20 years), amounting at IDR 1.384.016.437.777,09.
