Description
Summary:Banyuwangi International Airport relies on the tourism sector. Along with the rise of Indonesian tourism after the pandemic, development of existing airports is needed to ensure that passenger demand can be served for the next 20 years, which is the forecast horizon for typical long-term forecasts. Development planning begins with passenger forecasts and aircraft modulation to obtain the load needed to be accommodated by airside facilities. Then, evaluation of existing capacity on airside geometry and pavement structure is carried out by comparing with the load. If the existing airside facilities are no longer able to accommodate the load, redesign of airside geometry and pavement structure is carried out. Then, it continued for markings and drainage of airside facilities. The design process refers to standards set by FAA, ICAO, and Ministry of Transportation. Based on the analysis, development of airside facilities needed are runway extension, addition of shoulders in runway and taxiway, apron expansion, and reconstruction of apron pavement structure.
