HIV patients became priorities in drug counseling. Lack of knowledge on HIV/AIDS and its drugs became a problem in therapy. Counseling is a way to increase patient knowledge. However, there is patient dissatisfaction in counseling. Evaluation is required to improve counseling quality. Patient satisfaction is one of drug counseling evaluation aspects. Furthermore, evaluation of patient knowledge is required to measure the understanding of information that has been explained and their knowledge on the disease. This study aimed to determine the level of patient satisfaction on the drug counseling and the level of patient knowledge on the drugs and disease. The study was conducted in a descriptive cross-sectional analytic to 100 respondents of HIV patients at a primary health center in Bandung City using valid and reliable questionnaire. Satisfaction and knowledge levels were analyzed univariately and bivariately using Mann– Whitney and Kruskal–Wallis. Results using Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) with service quality instrument (SERVQUAL) showed that respondents were very satisfied with drug counseling service by 84.5%. Results of gap analysis between expectations and satisfaction showed negative gap values on all question attributes. Results of evaluation on patient knowledge about drugs showed that 73% respondents with excellent categories, 25% sufficient and 2% less, while on the disease showed that 85% respondents with excellent categories, 14% sufficient, and 1% less. The satisfaction and knowledge levels showed good level.
