However, in Indonesia, those who use cars often base their fuel choices on price rather than the ideal compression ratio. These choices can lead to increased emissions and suboptimal vehicle performance. Furthermore, Pertalite should no longer be used in Indonesia as it started to implement Euro-4 regulations. This study evaluated the performance of Pertalite and Pertamax fuels on seven test cars through two stages of testing. The first test was conducted on the road to obtain data on maximum speed, acceleration, fuel consumption, and emissions. The second tests was the chassis dynamometer test to obtain data on torque, power, and air-fuel ratio. The test cars are Avanza 1.3, Avanza 1.5, Brio, Calya, Carry Pick-Up, Innova and Xpander. The analysis results show that Pertalite fuel is suitable for cars with a compression ratio of 9:1 to 10:1. However, there is an exception for one test vehicle, namely the Xpander car with a compression ratio above 10:1, that uses Pertalite for ideal performance. While Pertamax fuel is better used for cars with a compression ratio of 10:1–11,5:1. Overall, Pertamax is superior to Pertalite in the seven vehicles tested. text
