However, the development of tourism in the region is still not well addressed. The existing development efforts also do not pay much attention to the demand side of tourism. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has also affected the tourism industry and its stakeholders, including the local tourism workforce and the tourists themselves. Situ Cileunca natural tourism, as a local tourism destination in Bandung Regency, does not have a strong competitive advantage compared to other natural tourist destinations in West Java at present. Communicative planning is the appropriate solution for formulating a strategy for the development of regional tourism areas, especially Situ Cileunca natural tourism, to enhance its competitiveness. Big data through the social media platform Twitter serves as a suitable data source to identify the sentiment and perception of the public as tourists towards the related tourism. By utilizing the components of tourism development, namely attractions, amenities, and accessibility, big data can identify the dominance of tourism components used by tourists along with their sentiment values, which then become the focus of development. The results from big data can provide new perspectives on tourism demand that come directly from the public with a large volume of data and rapid processing. The actual conditions at the related tourist destination are also identified through surveys, ultimately revealing the gap between big data sources and actual on-site sources. This gap serves as the basis for formulating a strategy for the development of Situ Cileunca natural tourism, which is expected to be an accurate step in developing tourism based on the demand perceived through sentiment and social patterns of the community. First, a collaboration scheme between the regional tourism management and private tourism businesses is an important strategy to provide clear and unambiguous tourist information to potential tourists. The same applies to the strategy of improving the three components of tourism development, which involve renovation, reactivation, addition, and maintenance to support the needs of tourists while spending time at Situ Cileunca text
