The background problem of this research is the consumption of diesel oil in Indonesia is not balanced with the production capability, and the research having three objectives: 1) Develop the backcasing model for the set of equipment of policy the development of biodiesel industry in Indonesia. 2) See the influence of policy instrument that been used in model for the success of the development of bioddesel industry in Indonesia. 3) Develop the policy for the success of the development biodiesel industry in Indonesia. <br />

The data collection processed having three steps: literature study, observation study and in-depth interview with the biodiesel stakeholders. Data that has been obtained is qualitative data and quantitative data, visioning for 20 years in front from the stakeholders, actual condition of industry biodiesel in Indonesia, and Indonesia biodiesel roadmap is qualitative data. And then the calculation biodiesel production cost, the calculation of the cost for build biodiesel plant, and the order of priority problem is quantitative data. <br />

With the use of backcasting method, objectives of the development biodiesel industry for 20 years in front have been stated, include with limits, and clear target for each stage. With the performed of the policy and programs that have been make from the scenario analysis biodiesel industry able to fulfill the target and objectives that have been stated for each stage. <br />

The next research that can be develop for biodiesel industry is about biodiesel plant lay out design with the most efficient and effective cost production and fit with that region, waste procession system for biodiesel plant, the use of excess product from biodiesel production and much more topics can be develop from biodiesel industry. |
