Description
Summary:Floriculture is a branch of horticulture that studies the cultivation of ornamental plants such as cut flowers, potted plants, or garden plants. Ornamental plants are so favored by the public because its many functions and benefits. Apart from being used as a decoration for homes, offices and other public places, ornamental plants are also considered to provide calmness and soothe the soul for those who truly appreciate them. Cihideung Agrotourism Village, is an ornamental plant paradise in Bandung that sells and cultivates hundreds of types of ornamental plants and cut flowers. However, like most villages in Indonesia, Cihideung Agrotourism Village is also dealing with poverty problems. 75 percent of Cihideung residents work as ornamental plant farmers, but this has not been able to lift the local economy because plant sales are considered stagnant. The bright side is, if the agribusiness is managed properly and the realization of new innovations in the development of agro-tourism in Cihideung, the ornamental plant or floriculture industry can become a new field of work and become a promising commodity. Therefore, we need a catalyst that can increase the income of the local community of Cihideung Agrotourism Village and at the same time raising the appreciation and contribution of the public to the ornamental plant industry. With that in mind, Floriculture Center was created, with an agroedutourism program that can introduce people to the world of floriculture, so that the prospects for ornamental plants for Cihideung Village and for Indonesia will be bright in the future. The research method used in this design is to collect data from literature studies, field observations, and direct interviews with related parties. The data that has been collected is then analyzed as the basis for designing this facility.
