INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/74350 <p align="justify"> There are three types of electric trains, there are electric rail (KRL), mass rapid transit (MRT), and light rail transit. (LRT). Of these three types, KRL is the first and most widely used car especially in urban areas on the island of Java. In its operation, special attention is paid to the contact between the pantograph and the catenary contact wire. This is because it is important to run the KRL at a regular speed in a varied environment, and it is essential to avoid high drainage. The commonly used wear test is the pin on disc method. In this study modifications were made to the trolley wire so that it could be installed as a pin, as well as adjusting the size of the graphite from the pantograph so that it could be installed as a disc. The wear test is carried out by several factors which are supported by material characterization, tensile test, and hardness test. The wear resistance of the Cu and Cu-Mg trolley wire did not differ significantly under different loading and lubrication conditions. Factors that significantly influence the value of the wear resistance of the trolley wire with different specimens are the lubrication factor, the load size, and the interaction effect between the lubrication and the load size. Cu-Mg alloy trolley wire is stronger and tougher than Cu trolley wire. text
