Description
Summary:Kasikan Field is one of the oil field owned by Pertamina BOB PT Bumi Siak Pusako at the West Area Block, Central Sumatera Basin. Kasikan field was found on September 1972 and start its production on January 1975. Productive reservoir at the Kasikan oil field is a Bekasap Formation. Eventhough the production has been going on for long, fasies interpretation, spreading and geometry of the 500-sand A and B reservoir hasn’t been defined very well. Data used for the research contains 36 wells at the Kasikan Field and 8 wells at the field around West Area Block that had a Gamma ray well log, resistivity log, density log and one of it had the core which is Kasikan-25 well and also a 3D Seismic Data. The research includes core description and analysis, fasies interpretation, correlation, seismic atribute analysis, fasies mapping and reservoir quality. A core description have been done to found out the litofasies association. Next is interpreting the fasies association using well log data. Seismic atribute data used as a back-up to find out the spreading of the fasies laterally. Result from the research interpreted that litofasies association are Upper Estuarine Channel and Estuarine Mud. The sedimentation environment from the fasies association is wave dominated estuaries. 500-sand A and B reservoir themselves are upper estuarine channel. The pattern for fasies spread Upper Estuarine Channel is trending from North-East to South-West. Then the Estuarine mud flat sedimentation cover all Kasikan Field laterally. Seismic atribute regionally shows Upper Estuarine Channel geometry during top reservoir 500- sand sedimentation that support the result of the research. The mapping of porosity and permeability value shows the same pattern with the fasies spreading pattern. It can be concluded that the pattern of porosity value’s spread and permeability controlled by the proportion of fasies association on the interval. Optimation strategy can be based by fasies spreading pattern and value distribution of the average porosity and permeability, which comes to additional new injection well on the lower structure location (flank) or using wells that is not active by changing the configuration of the well into water injection well with good permeability, but the east side of the field is not reccomended to be water injected because it had a small value of porosity and permeability so it would be more efficient if a horizontal drilling was done in order to widen the contact with reservoir.
