Description
Summary:The government of Indonesia is currently working on building the country's new capital city or Ibu Kota Negara Baru (IKN) at East Kalimantan. The transportation modes which will be used in IKN are autonomous vehicles (AVs). AV is a vehicle which is able to operate itself with minimum human intervention. The Ministry of Transportation has officially stated that AV will be a part of the national transportation system, so the implementation of AV will not only occur in IKN but also in other big cities and foremost, outermost, and least developed areas or daerah terdepan, terluar, dan tertinggal (3T). Before being implemented, evaluating AV's acceptance or usage intention is essential. This study investigates the level and factors influencing the intention to use AV in Indonesia, big cities in Java, 3T, and IKN. This study was conducted by sharing a questionnaire with 1255 total respondents. The questionnaire is developed from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Responses are given on a Likert scale with five scales from [1] (strongly disagree) to [5] (strongly agree). The findings show that the level of usage intention of AV in Indonesia is relatively high (3.68 out of 5). Factors that significantly influence intention to use AV are perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward behavior, social influence, and hedonic motivation. Implications from this study can be used as the basis for developing AV implementation in Indonesia.
