The location is still functioning as a tourist destination at the moment. In addition, Kota Lama Semarang is one of the cities included in The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) quest for World Heritage City status. Given the increasing tourism potential in the Semarang Old Town Area, constructing numerous cultural heritage structures that are not yet functioning in the Semarang Old Town Area is a worthwhile project. An Adaptive Re-use approach and passive technology are used in the design of selected existing structures. The Semarang City government is working to restore the entire Semarang Old City Area. With climate change in Semarang from the Dutch colonial era (1800s) to the present, an assessment of the significance of comfort and passive design in one of the cultural heritage buildings on Jalan Merak was conducted. Re-evaluation is required so that the building can continue to play a beneficial role as a contributor to the surrounding environment and building users. The research in this thesis will be organized utilizing a design approach that begins with a literature review, followed by a precedent review, design location analysis, elaboration and design results, and design result evaluation. This thesis will provide design changes using this methodology. This thesis will provide design adjustments to design objects using an Adaptive Re-use approach and the application of passive design using this methodology. text |
