The government of Indonesia has tried to encourage industry 4.0 adoption throughout Indonesia through Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0). PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), a state-owned business, is targeted to achieve a 3,5/4 INDI index in 2024. To achieve that, PTDI needs to transform one of their manual production lines, such as the dural line which is a part of the surface treatment process. The previous research has implemented an automated hoist system in a simulation. However, the system was only able to carry out only one job at a time, even though in the real production system, multiple job can be processed at the same time. This research aims to develop an automated hoist system that can carry out multiple jobs at once. A programmable logic controller (PLC) will be employed for the automation process. A prototyping framework will be used for the development, which consist of communication phase, design phase, modelling phase, and deployment phase. The phases will be detailed to the development requirements. The research produced a hardware design, along with a software that integrates PLC program, human-machine interface (HMI) display, and job scheduling. The latter was based on hoist scheduling problem. The automation system then tested using a two real-routing job scenario. The results showed that the automation system is capable of handling multiple jobs. Despite of that, a no-wait constraint on the production line was not satisfied due to hardware limitations. text
