Summary: | History plays an important role to guide a nation’s principles as well as way of life,
particularly in a form of past experiences. The main goal of this design project is to
make a vessel of knowledge regarding cultural heritage that aims to embody
historical awareness through historical understanding. This design revolves around
delivering historical facts through an informative compendium that mainly
discusses about the remains of Classical Indonesia, Candi Sewu, as its main topic.
Data gathering was commenced through various methods such as direct
observation, interviews, as well as comparative study in order to gain insight about
the essence of Candi Sewu’s history as well as the target audience’s preferences in
terms of their learning process. Result stated that Candi Sewu, other than being a
legacy to the Mataram Kingdom, is also considered as a symbol of religious
prosperity that once exists in Ancient Java. Aside from Candi Sewu, interview
analysis also expresses that children between 7-11 years tend to prefer learning
methods that involves their participation as well as having a dynamic design.
Therefore, Augmented Reality (AR) technology will play its part as a supporting
interactive media, especially to deliver the kind of information a static media, like
books, could not. |
