With this condition, research to search for the potencial of hydrocarbon was hard to be done, but gravity method can be used in any field condition and easy in aquisition. This method be able to detect the variation of subsurface density in lateral and vertical.

Gravity data need to be corrected, one of them is terrain corecction. The measuring of terrain correction was done by the help of topographic digital map and AutoCad 2002 software. After correction, complete Bouguer anomaly (CBA) can be calculated. Spectrum analysis and second vertical derivative analysis need to be done to help the modelling. Modelling was done by using forward modelling technique using Grav2DC software by making correlation between geology data, spectrum analysis and SVD analysis.

From the modelling, we could see the subsurface structure including basin and layering that filled the basin, like was acqureded are basin and grabben. From the interpretation, there is a possibility hydrocarbon accumulation on Baturaja and Parigi formation.
text
