Description
Summary:In recent years, the gaming community has grown tremendously along with the development of technology. It has also increased the popularity of gaming social platforms, especially Discord, which uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). This study discusses the measurement of 4G network service quality on Telkomsel, ByU, IM3 Ooredo, 3, XL, LiveOn, AXIS, and Smartfren cellular operators. As well as the Discord voice chat server regions in Singapore, Japan, India, and Hong Kong. The research was conducted on the server of the Discord game community named "Anggur Merah". Service quality performance was measured using Wireshark's packet capturing method for Quality of Service (QoS), Discord voice debugging, and Mean Opinion Score (MOS) Extended E-Model. The study began by calculating the distance of the nearest Base Transceiver Station (BTS) location to the data collection location. In these measurements, the highest ping results were found in Singapore with a value of 118.77 ms and in ByU with a value of 88.61 ms. Meanwhile, the highest decryption failures were recorded in Singapore with a value of 0.50 and in Smartfren with a value of 0.32. For routing failures, the highest occurred in Hong Kong with a value of 0.39 and in Smartfren with a value of 0.67. Furthermore, the highest pacer delay was recorded in Japan with a value of 0.12 ms and in Telkomsel with a value of 0.14 ms. The highest throughput occurred in Japan with a value of 134.12 Kbps and in Smartfren with a value of 121.20 Kbps. The highest packet loss rate was found in Singapore with a value of 0.000333% and in ByU with a value of 0.00001%. The highest delay was recorded in Singapore with a value of 19.72 ms and in Telkomsel with a value of 19.81 ms. While the highest jitter occurred in Singapore with a value of 19.50 ms and in Telkomsel with a value of 20.10 ms. In terms of MOS, Singapore is 4.2208 and Telkomsel is 4.2207. These results according to the ITU-T G.107 standard are included in the satisfied category.
