Description
Summary:Betawi is one of the original cultures inhabiting the capital city of Jakarta. This culture was born from a combination of several cultures that came to the Jakarta area. This design uses a case study of the Betawi cultural area located in Setu Babakan, Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta. The Setu Babakan area is a Betawi cultural heritage that is still preserved today. The aim of designing a Betawi arts cultural and creative center in the Setu Babakan area is to design a facility that can assist efforts to increase interaction between the younger generation of the surrounding community so that they are able to actively generate creative ideas, optimize an educational and recreational facility that is able to create new experiences and atmosphere for visitors. Betawi on facilities. The qualitative research method is based on field observations of Betawi Village and direct interviews with facility employees, community representatives, and visitors to Setu Babakan. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that now the indigenous Betawi people are starting to shift and move areas from Jakarta, this is increasingly being driven by the function of traditional areas that have turned into modern areas. In addition, the popularity of this village is not widely known by the people of Jakarta and tourists, and many areas or recreational facilities can become competitors. These findings show that optimizing facilities will greatly influence efforts to increase cultural enthusiasm and preserve Betawi culture so that it is not forgotten by future generations.
