Summary: | Dementia is a disease that impairs memory and thinking abilities. Dementia
significantly impacts lifestyle, social skills, and daily activities. The number of
elderly individuals with dementia in Indonesia has significantly increased over
time. There is a problem for families or caregivers in monitoring the activities and
whereabouts of elderly individuals with dementia when the caregiver is not at
home. In response to this issue, the design of a device that can monitor the activities
and location of elderly individuals with dementia within a room is carried out. In
the design of the system, the author develops and implements an activity recognition
algorithm using fuzzy logic with an accuracy of 96.7%. Additionally, the author
designs a website that can be used by family members or caregivers to monitor the
activities and location of the elderly individuals from outside the house. The
designed website can display visualizations of the elderly individual's location and
activities, the battery percentage of the device used by the elderly individual, as
well as the history of their location and activities. The website has a user-friendly
interface and follows the expected flow determined by the author. Finally, the
author designs and implements a PCB casing to protect the PCB and battery from
external disturbances. |
