Kebon Jeruk area is located in the city center of Bandung and serves as a hub for movement and activities in the city. It is not immune to several issues that potentially degrade the quality of transportation infrastructure and diminish public interest in using public transportation. These issues include street vendors, improper parking, and unregulated transportation, which hinder road accessibility, as well as limited terminal and station facilities and poor drainage. Based on the existing conditions, a comprehensive redesign of the Kebon Jeruk area is necessary to address these issues and enhance the quality of transportation facilities and infrastructure. The focus of this redesign is to ensure that all existing transportation modes are designed to be closely located and interconnected, facilitating seamless transitions and transfers between public and private modes of transport. The design methodology employed in this study includes normative and fragmental methods with design method problem-solving. The redesign of the Kebon Jeruk area emphasizes the development of its diverse transportation modes to enable integration. Thus, the proposed design aims to resolve existing issues in the area through the principle of integrating existing transportation modes, ensuring safety, accessibility, sufficient capacity, integration, smooth and rapid flow, orderliness, timeliness, ease of access, affordable fares, comfort, low pollution, compliance, safety, and efficiency. text |

The transportation area is designated for activities involving a movement
from one to another place. The increasing economic and urban activities make
transportation crucial. However, the lack of organized, integrated, and minimal
facilities reduces public interest in using public transportation. Kebon Jeruk area
is located in the city center of Bandung and serves as a hub for movement and
activities in the city. It is not immune to several issues that potentially degrade the
quality of transportation infrastructure and diminish public interest in using
public transportation. These issues include street vendors, improper parking, and
unregulated transportation, which hinder road accessibility, as well as limited
terminal and station facilities and poor drainage.
Based on the existing conditions, a comprehensive redesign of the Kebon
Jeruk area is necessary to address these issues and enhance the quality of
transportation facilities and infrastructure. The focus of this redesign is to ensure
that all existing transportation modes are designed to be closely located and
interconnected, facilitating seamless transitions and transfers between public and
private modes of transport. The design methodology employed in this study
includes normative and fragmental methods with design method problem-solving.
The redesign of the Kebon Jeruk area emphasizes the development of its diverse
transportation modes to enable integration. Thus, the proposed design aims to
resolve existing issues in the area through the principle of integrating existing
transportation modes, ensuring safety, accessibility, sufficient capacity,
integration, smooth and rapid flow, orderliness, timeliness, ease of access,
affordable fares, comfort, low pollution, compliance, safety, and efficiency. |
