While the nature of evaporation have the tendency to increase on mid to the beggining of the year. These pattern was attracting to be observed especially for a rain based agriculture or for an irrigation system agriculture. Clustering methods used to get the rain and evaporation characteristics. Each station that has been grouped in first cluster on rain and evaporation data that have the most simillarity. Oldeman methods was used to get the climatic classification on east Java and that in whole Java region classified as zone D3 and E, which is categorized as an arid region. And Oldeman recommend an irrigation based system agriculture in this area, so in this final project we examine the water surplus in East java based on rain and evaporation data. Those three methods, which is oldeman, cluster, and water surplus. Was applied to know the potential agriculture region in east Java. Especially for a region that had precipitation rate less than 1500 mm per year, and resulting a region in the first cluster who is still be available for paddy agriculture, the 1st and 4thcluster have twice preparatory plantation periods, one preparatory periods ocure in the 3rd cluster while the 2nd doesn’t have any. With this characteristics farmer could make a plan, for which periods he should beggin his plants. <br /> text
