VIRTUAL REALITY DEVELOPMENT FOR BRONCHIAL ASTHMA TREATMENT SIMULATION

In medical field study, simulations are used for medical students, trainee doctors, and other medical workers to study and prepared for situation encountered as medical professional. Simulations methods that is being used are medical mannequin, actors, computer softwares, etcetera. Each methods that...

Simulations methods that is being used are medical mannequin, actors, computer softwares, etcetera. Each methods that are used, they have differents pros and cons. For example, simulation that use computer software is cheaper than mannequin, has less restriction for space, and could stimulate the user with gamification. Computer software simulation can be in a form of integration with mannequin, 2D based video game, or virtual reality simulation. This final project is done to made a virtual reality simulation for bronchial asthma patient treatment according to the guide from Indonesian Doctor Conpendium and being developed with the help of PT. Serba Dinamika. The usage of virtual reality as a simulation is build to make more immersive situation than just using 2 dimensional based software. The development for this software use Unity and being tested on virtual reality hardware with Android support. The software testing for target audience used 10 respondent of medical students that is pursuing bachelor degree and residencies. The test components are comfort, user reaction, and usabilty. From the results of testing with respondents, the value obtained for each component is the comfort component with an average of 4.3, user reaction with an average of 4.6, and usability with an average of 3.25. Further development can be done by adding details in the simulation and branching to other cases. text
