INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/75056 Optimization of natural gas production is needed to meet energy needs ranging from domestic energy, industry, transportation, and other sectors. One of the most common problems in optimizing natural gas production is liquid loading in gas wells. Even though it is well known as one of the production problems that may occur, it is not an easy thing to identify. Various kinds of data are needed to identify the occurrence of this liquid loading problem. Apart from the critical velocity of water and gas, liquid loading can also occur due to an increase in the water-gas ratio due to the accumulation of water during production. Approaches to prevent the occurrence of liquid loading can be done starting from analytical, empirical, and numerical approaches. This study focuses on perforation as a crucial parameter in production optimization in preventing fluid loading problems. Perforation plays an important role in production accumulation. With limited time and data, one way to prevent liquid loading is to use a reservoir proxy model. The main advantage of using a proxy reservoir model is its ability to provide fast results during the optimization process. In this case, the low processing time is invaluable because it allows the use of repeated optimization methods with high efficiency. With a fast-processing model, evaluation of various scenarios and alternative solutions can be carried out in a short time, speeding up the decision-making process. The results of this study are a proxy model that can be used quickly and easily to predict optimum gas production accumulation from the perforation ratio in conditions where there is a liquid loading problem which is represented by the accumulation of air in the well gas. text
