Summary: | One of the areas that provides ecosystem services for the people of West Java, especially
Bandung City, is Palintang Village located in Cipanjalu Village, Cilengkrang District,
Bandung Regency, West Java. Palintang Village has a lot of economic potential from
ecosystem services that can be utilized but has not been identified and quantified properly.
This study aims to: (1) identify ecosystem services found in Palintang village; (2) conduct
economic valuation of the identified ecosystem services; and (3) develop management
strategies from the economic valuation that has been done. Preliminary studies were
conducted to identify the types of potential ecosystem services and determine further
research methods. Identified ecosystem services that have the potential to be managed
include hydrological services, services for the provision of agricultural commodities,
plantations and livestock, and cultural tourism services. In this study, economic valuation
was carried out by determining the value/price through a social approach using the price
stated in government regulations and a benefit approach using the contingent valuation
method (CVM) and travel cost method (TCM). Based on the research results, the total
economic value of ecosystem services in 2023 is Rp267.078.306.341.-, while the
ecosystem service management strategy that can be done is by increasing the promotion
and competitiveness of ecosystem services, education related to ecosystem service
functions and the application of agroforestry farming systems. |
