Description
Summary:The braking system is a crucial component in railway safety, thus quality control through inspections is crucial. The development of a cyber physical system (CPS) in managing the inspection process aims to enhance real-time monitoring and decision-making, allowing for a detailed and efficient inspection process. The development of CPS in managing inspections is done to ensure that the inspection process runs effectively and efficiently. In this study, the CPS-based inspection process of train braking systems was developed through the provision of identity to the braking system in each trainset, the use of a configurable virtual workstation (CVWS), a database, and a web application. The data obtained during the inspection process is entered through the web application, stored in the database, and then processed and analyzed by the CVWS to generate decisions from the conducted train braking inspection process. This research was tested and compared with static braking inspection data carried out on the light rapid transit (LRT) trainset on the inspection line in the railway industry. The tested system successfully stored inspection data on a database, processed the data to produce inspection decisions based on the variation of inspection data, and displayed it on the designed web-based application.
