Description
Summary:The development of hypersonic weapon is ultimately entrenched by the seemingly incessant arms race among the largest military power in the world. Amidst the profusely nuclear weapon non-proliferation hollered all around the world, newer and more advanced nuclear delivery system emerges in the form of those missiles capable of sustaining hypersonic speed, a radical state-of-the-art technology pursued by military prowess around the globe in pursuit of extending their reach of global military dominance. Both the Russia and PRC are the two nations currently ahead of the game in front of everybody else. Each of the countries now have operational hypersonic missile, adding to that the fact that the Russian have been mentioned to deploy the Khinzal hypersonic missile during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. In context to Indonesia, the development of hypersonic weapon only adds to the complexity of the geostrategic situation ensued in the region. The evidence of PRC being in control of hypersonic weapon puts them in the upper hand in terms of technological and strategic tension around the Pacific region, where the US is in pursuit to invoke its authority. This forces Indonesia to be in a position where a thorough improvement of its military equipment is crucial. In line to government policies, improvements of military equipment should be done by domestic defense industries, in which a method of transfer of technology will be put in place.
