ANALYSIS THE RELATIONSHIP AND RISK OF ENVIRONMENT FACTORS ON LOW BIRTH WEIGHT CASES AND RESPIRATORY SYSTEM DISORDERS IN KUTAWARINGIN, MARGAHAYU AND SOREANG DISTRICT, BANDUNG REGENCY

The benchmark of people's welfare can be seen from the cases of diseases that exist in Indonesia. In Bandung Regency, LBW cases are the highest cause of neonatal death in 2022. In addition, cases of respiratory system disorders are the number one ranked disease for the most common diseases found in hospitals and health centers. This study analyzed the relationship and risk of environmental factors to cases of low birth weight (LBW) and respiratory system disorders in Bandung Regency. This type of research is quantitative descriptive observational with cross-sectional study design. Questionnaires were distributed to 100 mothers who had children in three sub-districts in Bandung Regency, namely Kutawaringin Sub-district (agricultural sector), Margahayu Sub-district (residential sector) and Soreang Sub-district (industrial sector). PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations were also measured using HT-9600 for 3 weeks. The results showed a significant correlation between PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations and LBW cases with correlation coefficient values of 0.642 and 0.387, supported by the calculation of OR values for several environmental factors >1, indicating that PM exposure is a risk factor for LBW and respiratory system disorders. text
