Summary: | Drought disasters are projected to increase in the future. Drought is a problem that needs attention given the importance of water availability in the Upper Citarum watershed area. Hydrological drought has a close relationship with the impact side, but so far drought is more often only seen from a climate perspective. Therefore, this research analyzes the characteristics of hydrological drought and its propagation mechanism from hydrological drought to meteorological drought. The analysis was carried out using discharge data obtained from the SWAT simulation, and then analyzed using the SPI and SRI drought index with accumulation time intervals of 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. The results showed that the duration and drought increased with the accumulation time interval, while inversely with the number of drought events. The longest duration of drought in the Upper Citarum watershed is on average around 4-11 months, with a tendency for higher duration and severity to occur in the southeastern region and tend to decrease in the northern region. The propagation of meteorological drought to hydrological drought is carried out by analyzing the comparison and correlation between the SPI and SRI indices. A strong correlation was obtained at a 1-month time lag between the two droughts. |
