Description
Summary:Mud weight evaluation is one of the important factors when conducting a geomechanical evaluation in oil and gas drilling. Mud weight used in mud plan is a crucial factor that must be carefully designed so that the drilling process can run smoothly. One method that can be used to determine the weight of drilling mud is the Median Line Principle. This principle aims to keep the weight of the drilling mud used at a level similar to the in-situ stress to minimize stability problems in the wellbore. In this study a literature review, data evaluation, and drilling mud weight calculation were carried out using the Median line Principle. The data source used is data from well-A7. This study produces an ideal median line as a basis for determining the weight of drilling mud which in the future can be used in planning drilling mud used for drilling subsequent wells.
