Emission. INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/75227 In September 2022, the government implemented a reduction in fuel subsidies, resulting in an increase in fuel prices. Pertamina, the leading fuel producer in Indonesia, faced competition from competitors such as Vivo. Many customers have shifted their preference to Vivo, particularly Revvo89, as they believe it offers improved efficiency and performance for their vehicles. Hence, the objective of this final project is to compare the performance of Revvo89 and Pertamax in seven mainstream cars in Indonesia: Honda Brio, Toyota Calya, Toyota Avanza 1.3 and 1.5, Mitsubishi Xpander, Suzuki Pick-up, and Toyota Innova Reborn. The comparison involves conducting road tests and chassis dynamometer tests on these cars. The road tests determine factors like top speed, acceleration, and fuel consumption, while the dynamometer tests measure torque, power, and air-fuel ratio (AFR). Additionally, emission tests are carried out to assess the emissions produced by the vehicles. The findings indicate that fuels with higher RON do not always guarantee better performance and lower emissions. This is influenced by the compression ratio of the vehicle, as cars with lower compression ratios tend to perform better with lower RON fuels. Furthermore, the manufacturing standards of the cars play a significant role in their engine performance. Overall, the comparison between Pertamax and Revvo89 reveals that both fuels yield similar results in terms of car performance and emissions. text |
