Summary: | Sorting errors are a problem faced by logistics warehouses. Logistics warehouses handle up to 8000 packages per day for sorting. One of the causes of errors in sorting is worker negligence. The large number of packages that must be sorted and the demand for speed cause workers to become tired and increase the chances of worker negligence, resulting in more sorting errors. The burden on workers becomes even heavier because workers must find packages that are incorrectly sorted and return them to the correct basket.
In this final project, a logistics package sorting system is developed using a mobile robot. This logistics package sorting system is developed by considering various constraints. The system works by reading the QR Code containing the destination city on the package, the package is placed on the mobile robot which then goes to its destination basket, then the package is placed in the basket, then the mobile robot returns to its stop post to repeat its work.
This final project book discusses the design, implementation and testing of chassis, hardware, and sensors on a mobile robot platform for logistics package sorting. There is a power supply subsystem as the main power source, a controller as a place for processing and selecting decisions, sensors to detect the environment, and motors to move the mobile robot platform. Then integration is carried out with a navigation system that requires information from sensors, a dumping system that requires commands from the controller, and a QR Code reader system that gives the destination of the basket so that an overall logistics package sorting system is obtained. In general, the chassis, hardware, and sensors can work well. The system as a whole can perform package sorting. However, improvements are needed in terms of navigation, scheduler, and processing in the controller on the mobile robot platform. |
