In addition, Mutiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO), one of the important requirements on 5G mobile communication systems, can be implemented on GFDM as it has similar properties to the Orthogonalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) implementation. In this paper, a 2x2 MIMO receiver system in GFDM is implemented using a Software Defined Radio (SDR) type Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) E310 and MATLAB as signal processing software. For the transmitter and receiver connected to the SDR, two horn antennas are used as transmitters and two log­periodic antennas are used as receivers with a distributed-MIMD configuration. For signal processing, DFT-based channel estimation technique, preamble synchronization and maximum ratio combining (MRC) receiver for Space Time Coding (STC)-GFDM are implemented. From the test results, it is found that the receiver can process the information sent by the transmitter with a BER evaluation of0.0191256 in an anechoic chamber environment. text
