Summary: | The rise of intrusion is one of the problems of the server. Intrusions are actions that violate
system security policies by unauthorized parties to damage or affect the system in an undue
direction. Intrusions are usually detected using an automated intrusion detection system.
However, human intervention is still needed in conducting server analysis. One way to find out
the condition of the server is to read the logs. Unfortunately, understanding the contents of the
log is difficult because of its large number and form that ordinary people do not easily read.
One solution in assisting log reading is to take advantage of pattern recognition capabilities
from humans by using visualization. Virtual reality can be used to improve visualization. In
this final project, a log visualization application was built using virtual reality. Applications
created using visualizations are expected to help detect denial of service, injection, and
scanning intrusions. After the application was built, 7 of the 8 functional needs that have been
identified have been tested. |
