Description
Summary:Waste management in DKI Jakarta, especially in Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta is carried out by the Johar Baru District Government together with the Johar Baru District Environmental Implementation Unit. Waste management un Johar Baru District must be in line with the waste management policy targets in DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No.108 of 2019. In one year, the generation of domestic waste generated by the community in Johar Baru District is 7.615,9298 tons/year with a volume of 80.875.090,72 liters/year and a density of 0,0904. With this amount of waste, the District Government of Johar Baru is still trying to reduce the burden of waste generation that needs to be managed. By taking the waste reduction approach from DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No.77 of 2019 and also DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No.55 of 2021, it is hoped that the waste produced can be managed and the public is aware of reducing and handling waste from home. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of waste management system policy towards the implementation of waste management, examine the impact and risks of waste on the environment and public health and safety, and recommend the potential for appropriate waste management in Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta. To find out potential analysis and recommendations for waste management, it is necessary to identift the waste generation and the percentage of types of waste as well as the composition and characteristics of the waste itself by sampling tests and laboratory tests on waste.
