Culture can disappear over time, just like Betawi culture, which is currently experiencing a decline in popularity. Many young generations nowadays are less interested in local culture (Betawi culture) and prefer modern things. The Betawi Cultural Center project will serve as a platform for the community, especially the younger generation, to preserve Betawi culture through a more modern approach, integrating the local community (Betawi), community activities, and nature. The project has three main functions: exhibition, public space, and theater. The exhibition is designed as an interactive and enjoyable educational area and a creative space where the general public can participate. The public space serves as a recreational area for the community, and the theater is a venue for showcasing Betawi arts. It is located in the Betawi cultural heritage area, specifically in the Situ Babakan area, Jakarta, with a total area of 7,094 square meters. There are three main design issues addressed in this project. Firstly, the interactive educational space combines urban and traditional experiences, giving a contemporary impression of Betawi culture. Secondly, the creative space aims to strengthen the local economy, promote Betawi culture, and empower the local community. Thirdly, the recreational space aims to enhance social interaction among visitors and a sense of ownership of the project. These three aspects will be addressed through the concept of "creative placemaking. The project consists of two building masses connected by a public area on the ground floor and a bridge on the first floor. It has a floor area of approximately 7,744 square meters, with two to three levels and a primary concrete construction. Warm colors dominate the design, creating a welcoming atmosphere that blends with the surrounding context.
