The development of manufacturing technology has a very important role in improving the quality and productivity of the manufacturing process. Currently, Indonesia still unable to manufacture and assemble industrial scale manufacturing machine, especially lathe machine. The lathe machine is the most commonly used machine and often referred to as the mother of all machines. During static conditions, the load that must be held by the lathe machine is very large and the base part of the lathe machine must be designed so that it bends slightly to the top because there will be deflection when carrying loads from other parts. In dynamic conditions, the driving motor will rotate, and the belt will transmit the rotation to the headstock. The rotation will pass through several gears and finally make the spindle rotate. The rotating spindle will cause vibrations. In this research, the author will conduct static and dynamic analysis of the NARA 4308 lathe machine. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the magnitude of the tension bar force required to ensure that the bed condition can withstand loads with minimal tolerance. This is done to achieve high dimensional tolerance in the produced products. In addition to analyzing the tension bar, the researcher will also perform an analysis of the vibration modes of the NARA 4308 lathe machine. The results of this study demonstrate that the forces acting on the tension bar significantly influence the straightness of the bed and the alignment between the headstock axis and the bed. Deformations in the bed, using the optimal magnitude of the tension bar force, are minimized, leading to an improvement in the precision of the lathe machine. Moreover, during the lathe machine's operational condition, the vibration is far from the values obtained from the simulation of vibration modes. text
