The Indonesian government plans to move the capital city to Kalimantan. Nusantara (IKN) as the next capital city of Indonesia, is based on the smart city concept. According to the plan of the Indonesian government, autonomous vehicles will become an important part of the transportation system in IKN, which provides mobility as a service for its citizens. The Indonesian government has also stated that civil servants working in ministry offices will be the first to migrate to IKN. With the introduction of autonomous vehicles in Indonesia. Therefore, this study is aims to understand the potential impacts of autonomous vehicle influencing people’s decision for commuting in IKN. A total of 351 respondents (2808 observations) from Indonesian ministry civil servants used the stated preference survey (SP Survey). Data analysis using the Multinomial Logit Model (MNL) with python-Biogeme. The MNL model is designed to find the most important factors. From a total of 351 respondents (2808 observations) were collected in this study. In general, autonomous vehicles are the choice of civil servants for their trips to IKN. Thus, the autonomous travel time has the highest significance value. Overall, the attributes for travel time, waiting time, and travel costs all have significant but negative values. A negative sign of this parameter is expected, because the utility and choice probabilities will decrease as travel time, travel costs, parking costs, and waiting times increase. This research procedure and its results make both theoretical and practical contributions. Theoretically, this research extends the study of autonomous vehicles in developing countries, and also finds that socio-demographic characteristics influence people's modal choice decisions. The current study shows that the need for a better understanding of autonomous vehicles, can increase the adoption of autonomous vehicles later. text
