Description
Summary:Disaster management in Indonesia isn’t sensitive toward gender yet, due to socio-economic and political pressures on women, such as the dominance of domestic activities, religion and tradition. Women tend to have less opportunity to access to bring secured and safety condition. Although the policy has been reached the issue, the commitment has not been successfully internalized in society. This research has been conducted to identify women's vulnerability based on the gender mainstreaming process that is sought as the presence of policy commitments regarding gender in disaster in pursuing Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The research was conducted with observation and interview data collection. Followed by coding and content analysis. The research is expected to be a point of reflection on women's vulnerability to disasters, so that the implementation of gender mainstreaming in disaster is not just a policy commitment.
