REALIZING A SUSTAINABLE TRIGONA BEEKEEPING BUSINESS THROUGH THE BUMN’S CSR POLICY OPTIMIZATION PROGRAM : A CASE STUDY OF I-NEWBEE

The agricultural industry consists of companies involved in the production of food or crops for consumption purposes. The agricultural sector in Indonesia in 2021 grew rapidly and make a large contribution to the national economy. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the most prominent agricultural sector is beekeeping. The demand for honey and propolis after Covid-19 is quite high. In the last six months the increase in sales is almost 200%. Therefore, trigona beekeeping has the potential to generate profits and increase income. To create a persistent beekeeping system, it is necessary to adopt innovations that can drive the transition towards a sustainable agricultural model. The innovations needed to create a sustainable agribusiness system can be supported by making a fundamental contribution to sustainable land management and product quality improvement. The real problems currently being faced by the beekeeping business sector in Indonesia are Land Conversion, Conventional Production Operating Systems, and Marketing Systems. These three problems can be solved with the help of CSR programs from Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN). Options that can be offered from the CSR program include providing capital in the form of cultivation land, providing incentive funds to beekeeping to improve their operational systems, as well as providing product marketing training. Based on very promising prospects, I-NewBee Company is here to provide beekeepers with innovative products and problem-solving services, especially focusing on stingless bees. The goal is to increase productivity and overcome problems in the production of various processed products from bees. With the technology we offer, we hope to provide significant benefits to beekeepers and consumers of beekeeping products.
