Summary: | <p align="justify">The city of Dumai, known for its palm oil production, also plays a dominant role in
the agricultural sector in the Indonesian commodity market. To fulfill the regional
government of Riau's desire to increase agricultural production in the year 2020, it
is crucial to construct a Deck on Pile cargo dock to facilitate and achieve this
objective. This Final Project will discuss the design steps and dimension
calculations, as well as the structural elements of the dock. The calculation of the
dimensions of the dock's structural elements is carried out to ensure their strength
can withstand the applied loads.
The planning of the dock includes considerations of environmental, operational,
and structural component availability data. Environmental data is processed using
extreme value analysis, hindcasting, and data plotting in various forms. These data
serve as inputs for load and dimension calculations, along with operational and
material data. Structural analysis is performed using the SAP2000 software.
The obtained outputs include the Unity Check Ratio (UCR), deflection, internal
forces, and placement reactions. UCR and deflection are used as criteria in
analyzing the structure, leading to iterative processes to meet the standards by
adjusting the dimensions and layout of the dock's structural elements. Internal
forces and placement reactions are used for the calculations of reinforcement in
bending and spiral on beams and plates of the dock.
