ULTIMATE STRENGTH DESIGN OF CORRODED STIFFENED PANELOF SHIP-SHAPE STRUCTURES WITH FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

Ships and offshore structures are constructed with reinforced plates that have been designed to meet the requirements and criteria for the Ultimate Limit State (ULS) according to the rules and guidelines of the classification society. The development of shipbuilding steel materials and welding techn...

The development of shipbuilding steel materials and welding technology and its production are subjected to many loads, such as external loads and temperatures that can trigger the collapse mode. Thus, it requires a review to ensure that production complies with regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe design for the safety of ships and offshore structures. Because, for several decades it is still difficult to accurately predict buckling, ultimate strength, and post-buckling behavior of reinforced plate structures on ships. There are many numerical simulation approaches and methods for the analysis of ultimate strength in ship reinforced plates. One of them is the finite element method which is implemented in the Abaqus software which can support this analysis. This Final Project is carried out by making a new modeling and the same analysis but with different result, in order to obtain a load shortening curve or a load deflection curve with restoring force to displacement data, in order to obtain the number of increments and ultimate points that can describe the capacity of the stiffened plate. text
