Summary: | The research problem focuses on identifying the aspect of AMA Group’s project management that needs improvement to address project delays. The research aims to determine the root causes of the delays and propose solutions and recommendations for improving project management in the company's operations. The objectives include investigating the underlying issues causing the delays and providing specific suggestions to mitigate the problem and enhance project efficiency in AMA Group. This research explores the use of PMBOK as a problemsolving approach to prevent project delays in AMA Group. Company expert judgment and historical data are utilized to identify the root causes of delays and assess the fulfillment of project management aspects at each stage. By integrating the identified root causes with relevant PMBOK factors, improvement areas are determined. The root cause of Project Delay in AMA Group is related to project scope, schedule, and resource management. Project Scope Management: The use of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) provides a clear structure for planning, estimation, and coordination. It helps identify task sequences, dependencies, and facilitates communication among team members, stakeholders, and partners. The WBS ensures a shared understanding of objectives and deliverables, enabling effective resource allocation and timely execution of the project. While Project Schedule and Resource Management: The Critical Path Method (CPM) helps identify critical tasks, calculate float time, and optimize resource allocation. It enables proactive management of delays, resource conflicts, and informed decisionmaking. By leveraging CPM analysis, project managers can mitigate potential delays and optimize project timelines and resources. In conclusion, the implementation of tools and techniques such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Critical Path Method (CPM), and resource histograms was recommended and effective by considering the capability of AMA Group. It will lead to a change control process, conduct comprehensive scope planning, and realistic schedule planning, streamlining workflow processes, addressing labor shortages, and regularly reviewing and improving project structures and processes. |
