The territory of Senapelan Sub-district constitutes a part of the Siak River Basin, which becomes a source of flooding during periods of intense rainfall upstream. One of the contributing factors to the occurrence of floods in the Senapelan area is the infrequent or inadequate quality of drainage systems along roads for facilitating water flow. Hence, a drainage design is being planned to address this issue, with the intended discharge for channel construction being a 10-year return period discharge with 52 channels and 75 subcatchments. The outlets of the drainage channels are planned to lead to Senapelan River 1, Sago River, and retention ponds, following the direction of surface flow. The envisioned retention ponds are proposed with water gates at the outlets, amounting to 2 ponds on the sides of Senapelan 1 and Sago River, with respective areas of 5.03 hectares and 2.33 hectares. To control floods along the rivers traversing Senapelan Sub-district, the strategy involves the planning of pumps and embankments, spanning a length of 791 meters for Senapelan River 1 and 150 meters for Sago River, considering a 25-Year return period discharge. text
