INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/75716 The application of nanoparticles in the oil dan gas industry has gained wide attention worldwide in recent years. This technology has become an alternative option for increasing oil recovery from conventional hydrocarbon reservoirs as it shows a promising result to lowering the residual oil. Numerous studies have demonstrated that combining nanoparticles with other enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods, including surfaktan injection, will enhance the performance of surfaktan dan yield to increasing oil production. As one of the main mechanisms of surfaktan is to reduce the interfacial tension (IFT) between oil dan formation water, adding the nanoparticles of titanium dioxide (TiO2) into surfaktan solution will induce the activation of other mechanisms, including altering the wetting state of the subsurface formations. The impact of this combined method on IFT dan wettability is investigated in this study via a spinning drop tensiometer dan contact angle measurements. It found that, adding TiO2 into the surfaktan solution reduced the IFT to the lowest minimum value of 5.85 × 10?5 mN/m, while the contact angle was decreased from 34.3? to 8.8?. The recovery results obtained through the coreflood experiment were adding TiO2 nanoparticles to the injected surfaktan resulting in a recovery of 19.33%. text |
