STRATEGY FOR PROVIDING PUBLIC GREEN OPEN SPACE IN BANDA ACEH

Increasing development has a good impact on the community, but also has a lot of bad impacts on the environment, especially in the aspect of the quantity of Green Open Space. The city of Banda Aceh which is the capital of Aceh Province has a population of 257.64 thousand from the city area of Banda Aceh 61.36 km². The research approach is carried out with a mixture or mixed method which is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods and Supply-Demand (Gap) analysis methods which aim to calculate the availability (supply) and needs (demand) of RTH in existing conditions to support community needs and urban development. From the results of the analysis, it was obtained that the calculation of public RTH needs based on the area with current conditions in Banda Aceh City shows that the total public RTH of Banda Aceh City is currently 845.43 ha or 14.33% of the total area of Banda Aceh city, which is 6,136.00 ha. The existing area of the Public RTH still does not meet the minimum area of 389.17 or 6.3%. According to the population of the next 10 years, it can be seen that with a population in 2032 with a population of 309,162, Banda Aceh City requires an RTH of 618,324 Ha. After the calculation results, a strategy for providing RTH in Banda Aceh City can be formulated resulting in 4 priority strategies for the provision of public RTH in Banda Aceh City. The strategy carried out is related to increasing land acquisition for public RTH 88 in Banda Aceh City through cooperation between the government, private parties and the community as well as control of public RTH that is already available.
