The airport terminal is the main aircraft infrastructure that must exist. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that the operational management of commercial airports in Indonesia requires a large source of energy when compared to other types of buildings in the building subsector, such as hotels, offices and shopping centers. Airports practically never stop operating in serving air traffic, so energy consumption, especially electricity, is of course very large. The focus of this thesis study is the airport which is an important asset for the development of the city of Baubau. Climate change which continues to increase every year requires Architects to play a role in reducing global warming. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a global commitment to create sustainable energy in creating a world that is comfortable for humans to live in, are an important consideration in developing the design of this airport terminal. Betoambari Baubau Airport is a class III domestic airport which is one of the main accesses for visiting local and foreign tourists (Asmin and Preambudi, 2021). This airport will be developed by the Southeast Sulawesi government (MK, 2021) due to the lack of available airport infrastructure. The aim of this research is to design a sustainable airport terminal building in order to minimize excessive energy consumption. The studies in this thesis are structured using qualitative and quantitative methods to obtain good design results. The results of this study state that the designed terminal building is approximately 10% more efficient than the previous terminal design. This terminal design is expected to be a reference source in the development of Betoambari Airport in Baubau in implementing the concept of sustainable Green Architecture. text |
