Summary: | Existence is the presence of something that emerges through various interactions, resulting in
the formation of an experience. Subsequently, this entity can be declared as being, can be seen,
and can be recognized. The concept of existence in this thesis is explored through the change
in matter that cannot revert to their original form, encompassing the qualities of corrosion,
decay, and weathering. Referring back to the concept of existence, the question arises
concerning the existence of object transformations and how it manifests into a visual form. The
author employs the method of abstraction, capturing only the essence through observations of
the attributes of objects undergoing changes. These observations are then distilled into
keywords capable of evoking a visual response. After identifying suitable keywords, the author
relies on their subjectivity to construct configurations of texture, color, and layers on paper as
a reciprocal response to the processed keywords. This is carried out with a preference for using
both dry and wet drawing mediums. In this context, drawing serves as an extension of the
concept of existence, where it embodies attributes of immediacy, comfort, and functions as a
marker of traces that can be recognized. |
